Bishop
Kenneth Obi is an elder in the Church of God in Christ. He is
a native of Nigeria, Africa. He came to America as a student
in 1984. He is presently studying for his Doctorate of Clinical
Christian Counseling at Restoration Christian Counseling Theological
Seminary.
Bishop
Kenneth Obi is happily married to Missionary Michelle Obi and
together they are proud parents of five wonderful children.
(Tierra, Terrell, James, Jeremiah and Jessica).
Bishop
Kenneth Obi gave his life to God in 1989. He did not understand
what this meant until October 7,1995 when he walked into One
Step of Faith C. O. G.I. C. Under the leadership of Elder M
U. Mitchell and First Lady Missionary Gene Mitchell, Bishop
Kenneth Obi received the Holy Ghost. Later while he attended
One Step of Faith God spoke to him a told him to start his own
church. He did not move quickly.
He
went on with God and did not remember what God had said until
November 2002. While he attended the Holy Convocation in Memphis,
Tennessee God spoke to him again and said the name of the church
will be Divine Word International.
The
foundation of the church was laid in Nigeria, West Africa on
October 1, 2004. Between October 2004 and December 2004 the
church was built. On December 19, 2004, the first service of
Divine Word International C.O.G.I.C. was held. Since October
2004, Bishop Kenneth Obi has started three churches in Nigeria,
West Africa.
Bishop
Kenneth Obi is presently a member of Greater New Macedonia C.
O. G.I. C, where he is Associate Pastor. He serves faithfully
under the leadership of Bishop Fredrick Kelly and First Lady
Mother Kelly. We pray that God will keep on blessing Bishop
Kenneth Obi and Missionary Michelle Obi.
